JORDAN ART
The Artist
BIOGRAPHY
The artist is self-taught. As a young girl she was always drawn to the arts, drama, architecture and design. A sensible career path in those days was not the arts unless you were highly talented. So a teacher in Mathematics she would become. Then life happened.
During the years of motherhood, career changing from being a teacher to become a businesswoman, the desire to paint was not totally neglected. Many works were sold on flea markets and from the walls of the house.

PORTFOLIO
Emotions awakened is that of nostalgia, feel-good, comforting, calming. Perhaps the want to withdraw from the outside world
Inspiration
I draw inspiration from colour first. Then comes the vision of content. Although not always clear. Dark, moody and imperfect scenery or pictures from the internet will trigger a desire to paint.
I love the Wabi-Sabi Japanese concept of perfect imperfection. The colours are distinctively monochromatic browns and paler shades of white. My style is not necessarily a reflection of my inner psychological health status. Yellow is my colour. That is happy.
My art is meant to embrace the feeling of peace and quiet and by no means should be described as glowering, glum or morose. Fellow artists like Carola Kastman, Ines Hildur, Kippie Leanard, Lorimirabelli and other international abstract artists are certainly
influential in my work. I learn a lot from them. Their work is unique and it inspires me to be authentic in my own right.
